Crossed Destinies
Support
Crossed Destinies is an instrument of constraints — a generative sound‑and‑light piece you play with a touch. Here is what you need to know.
How do I start?
Open the app and touch anywhere on the screen. Your first touch begins the sound; after that, every touch places a note, and the instrument answers you.
Where are the controls?
There is a small handle at the very bottom edge of the screen. Tap it to raise the controls — the mode, the scale, the constraint, the ways of seeing, and the buttons that let you keep what you make. Tap the handle again, or wait, and they slide away so the field is unobstructed.
I don't hear any sound.
Check the ring/silent switch on the side of your iPhone, and the volume buttons while the app is open. The app is built to play through the silent switch, but the volume still has to be up.
How do I keep what I make?
Every sitting you play is kept automatically in the atlas (open it from the controls). From there you can return to any past sitting, or use tableau and record to save an image or an audio take to your device.
