Privacy Policy — First Thought Best Thought

Effective date: 27 June 2026

First Thought Best Thought (“the app”) is a solo creative-writing practice tool created by Daniel Pinchbeck and published by H.R. Levinson. This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: the app collects nothing and sends nothing off your device.

Information we collect

None. The app has no accounts, no login, and no servers. We do not collect, transmit, store remotely, or have any access to personal information or to anything you write.

What you write stays on your device

Everything you write and choose to keep is stored only in the app’s private storage on your own device. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted, and we cannot see it. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.

Notifications

With your permission, the app schedules local notifications on your device to invite you to write at varied times. These are generated and delivered entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to us or to any third party. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app’s settings or in your device’s Settings.

Sharing

If you choose to share a piece, the app uses your device’s standard share sheet to hand the content to another app that you select (for example, Messages or Notes). The app itself does not transmit or post anything; what happens after you share is governed by the app you share to.

Analytics and tracking

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It uses no third-party SDKs that collect data, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Data deletion

You can delete any kept piece within the app. To remove all app data, delete the app from your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
